hiddy ho today! Last night I watched Batman Forever.. That Riddler part was made for Jim Carrey! Awesome! Anyway after that I decided it was time to sell my ISDN lan modem. So off to ebay! So anyway after putzing around with itfor an hour I got it up there... it sold and the guy already PayPaled me the money! Kick Ass! Then I get a note from a fellow Halloweener that they need some help with a website... so I call 'em up get the particulars, and do the work (it was nothing really) and Bam they have already PayPaled me the money... I love PayPal!
On another Ebay note...look at what I got outbid on at the last moment! ugghhh I need to complete my collection!
Finally there is this. It seems that someone got 3 ebay accounts and used two of them to bid the price up to astonomical proportions. (over $800 in this case) Then at the almost end of the auction retracted the two users bids leaving the third sitting pretty with a cheap price. While all of this was going on someone was emailing all of the auction participants and trying to sell them another version of the diary for a lot less. All in all wow this thing was doomed to be pulled and I agree with him. It's normally worth $500-$600 but not $800 and certainly not $300.

Ok I'm going to have to have a small entry today because my connection here at the office is blowing up... I had a great weekend how about you? I took Dade to the Eagle Point Wave pool and to see MIIB on Friday, we got home just in time to for a bad ass storm to come in and fry another sensor in my alarm system. WTF! Along with my phone, my satelite and cable modem freaking out it was a harrowing 3 hours! Saturday I went to see a friend of mine L, his daughter A turned 2, they had a cool slip and slide set up the hill in the backyard. The thing was 100 feet long and you got flyin by the end of it wow! Lot's of fun! I also found out he's got a C card! YEA! Anyway Sunday was good too lunch at Mom and Dad's a short dip, another big storm and then a trip walFart... Watched The Musketeer(pretty good), Shallow Hal(soso), The Majestic(wait for cable but see it) and Jimmy Nutron(if you a child buy it).

I found the Minority Report Precog Ball blanks at Hobby Lobby yesterday. I also got some Fruit Punch colored Minwax so sometime this weekend I'll experiment. I do not expect good results the first time around.

Spent my whole day yesterday looking for a party tent... well not my whole day but anyway... If anyone knows where I can get a party tent or an Army surplus tent or something please let me know... I'm looking for something in the 20'x40' range, a little smaller might be ok too.
Vindication! Sort of... most of you who know me know I subscribe to the Atkins no carb kind of diet. This diet has given me moderate success where others have failed miserably. All along as I would do my diet I would meet nothing but resistance from most people. I would try to explain how the diet worked but they would always come back with a "yea but" and it was always something about heart healthy and this and that. Alot of the people I would tell would think it's just out and out quackery! Well this article in the the Ney York times entitled "What if It's All Been a Big Fat Lie?" goes into the Atkins pheonomenon.

Wow this looooong weekend has flown by! July 4th... I worked my ass off that day! I was preparing a website I have for Camaro Concepts. They are going to put on a race in September, check it out at TexasBlackGold.com. The site is going to be a rapid developed brochure site. Five or six pages max no database stuff. I just uploaded a prototype so if you are looking at it now, it will get better. Anyway Friday night we went to see the fireworks in Baytown. Now I've been going to this thing for years and this year was the best yet... I remember when it used to be 1 firework for every 30-45 seconds now it's like 6-8 per minute... usually in clusters of 3 or 4. There was a slow breeze and that made the 3-d effect of the large blowouts more dramatic, lots of fun.
Now for those who did not go out and see fireworks... why not? I hope you did not deny your kids the opportunity. You are born with only about 60 Fourth of July Celebrations in your life the first 2 or 3 you care less about but then you have a good little span of say 8 years where they are just as magical as Christmas... and you just pissed one of them away because you didn't want to sit in 10 minutes of traffic. I hope the 10 minutes you saved in your life was worth it... what did you spend it doing... watching something crappy on TV? GET a TIVO! ... and Carpe Diem!
Friday I went to show my design to CC and they thought it was great. After that I drove over to a scuba shop and checked out a BC I've been wanting to try on... now I have a new BCD I want ... the Zeagle Ranger LTD, none of you out there want to give me one do you? I also went to see R on Friday and they are doing great, they just got back from an almost 2 week trip for a cruise and some time at Disney. Funny thing about that is another friend J and his family were at Disney at the same time! They also came back Saturday and he called and told me he had 5 hours worth of home movies and what was I doing! I was busy! :) Anyway he's giving me his old styro tombstones. Way cool!
Last night Angie and I went to dinner and to see MIB II. We have this thing now about dinner... Houston has one of the highest restaurant densities of any city in the US and we always find ourselves at the same ones so we have started to try new places every time we go out. Last night is was Saba Blue Water Cafe Downtown. Very cool place. Bar on one side and seating on the other, a big marine tank in the middle. Parking pissed me off. Valet was 6 bucks but there was no valet there so when I parked in the lot myself it was $10! Now I'm sure the valets have a deal or some other lot but $10 is ridiculous! The lot was empty I was one of 10 cars in a 200 car lot! Not worth $10 I'd say. Anyway on the inside... the food was fantastic! The portions were a little on the small side and cost a little on the high side but it tasted so good I'd say we would go back. After that it was on to the movie... when Angie and I go out on a "date" we go to the Edwards on Weslayan(sp?) by the Summit. So went there...Fandango-ed the tickets before we left so were not worried about not having any. Got there early anyway got perfect seats and the movie was great to good. They are never as good as the first but this was good enough to stand on it's own... good humor and compelling enough story that moved along with a good flow. Over before it started I thought and that is a sign of a good movie... i.e.. no boring parts. Before the movie we saw the new trailer for T3! It's coming... in a year! Also saw the trailer for LOTR Two Towers oooooooohhh... mmmm... If you want to see these trailers and have a decent connection go to Apple's trailer site. They have tons of stuff there...if you go did you know that there is a prequel to Silence of the Lambs coming out? Red Dragon with Edward Norton he's the guy who catches Lechter the first time... well I'm about to head off to Mom's house for some lunch and dip in the pool. cya

Here is a semi-interesting article about the guy who shot up an LAX airport the other day. One thing I thought was interesting about that whole deal was that the only "civilian" that stepped up and helped was a doctor from Texas. You know us Texas walking around with guns in holsters and having quick draw shootouts in the streets all the time it didn't even phase this doctor that the guy was shooting. No really... he was 60 feet away and a security guard had tried to stop the gunman who also had a knife and was now stabbing the guard so this guy got up and ran over there and helped subdue him... I say kick ass... if we all fight back when this stuff goes down the damn terrorist will lose their power to intimidate us.
Does a hot dog eating contest need a replay? It turns out some speed dog eating 113 pound dude from overseas creamed the crap out everyone by eating 50+ hot dogs with buns in 12 minutes! The bad part is he kinda spewed near the end but none of it came out... so since it was not visible he was not DQed... well this almost started a riot!
