This sitting at home stuff is for the birds! I need to work, if I don't get something soon I am going to have to start something on my own. On a light note I had a ton of fun trying to teach Dade to rollerskate today. He busted his ass about a hundred times but he a real trooper... he just kept at it. He tends to roller walk more than roller skate but he'll get it sooner or later.

Had an interview today with placement agency... It didn't go that well... low pay and the job was in the Woodlands. Anyway it looks like my insurance will run out in about 24 hours so that is always fun... you know I just don't feel like talking about it anymore.

Well I'm back from Vegas and only $400 in the hole... not bad. I saw a ton of cool profucts at the CES show and got to have a little fun to. I will say that being unemployed sure did make the losing hurt a bit more. Anyway on with a real blog entry for a change!
I'm sure you've all seen this but the iMac just came out with a new version of itself complete with a DVD burner! It looks very cool... See it!
Alot of you know I'm a big fat TiVo head! I just love it! Well TiVo unvieled a new version of the TiVo. It was not the best thing I saw there, but it may be the first I buy!
The Moxie Media Center was pretty damn cool... I kinda wonder if they can pull it off at the price point they have set but we'll see. It will converge TiVo like functionality along with MP3 and many other things to a single box that will communicate wirelessly via 802.11a to all of the other TVs in your house... yes all of them... imagine a do it all entertainment center that does not have wires and that is what they are shooting for... all at $300-$400... yea right!
My personal favorite thing I saw was the Hiptop. It's a cell phone, PDA, and a GSM/GPRS web data phone. It has a very cool interface with a keyboard and snap in camera. What does it do? Well use it a as a phone, or surf the web with a browser that actually looks right. Take a quick picture and beam it to someone via email instantly. It's small and are you ready for this it's only $200 with a $30 monthly UNLIMITED DATA stream and 500 minutes of talk time! This is very cool!

Here I stand in te middle of the show floor in Las Vegas at CES! What a cool place for a blog entry! Anyway Angie and are losing our ass, as you do when you come here. We played a bit last night and did nothing good. I managed 20 hands in a row of Let it Ride without a single hit. Anyway I'm to see if I can get a few more blisters on my feet... this thing is so huge! See y'all on Friday!
If you think it's 'neck call me 'neck but the Monster Truck thing last night was BAD ASS! Gravedigger and Meents what a show there was masive destruction, hell one truck crashed into the stands, there was a 3 storie robot dinosaur, the noise, the fumes, the engines ugh ugh ugh !! MORE POWER! To much fun! Now for all of you who would not be caught dead at one these events, fine keep it to yourself, stay home and watch tv. Meanwhile I'll be out planning the next, Monster Truck, Nascar, Snowmaker, Paintball, Skydiving, Halloween, drag racing, whatever I think of tonight kind of event. can you say scuba?!?

I woke up this morning feeling a bit under the weather, runny nose and cough you know the usual crud... anyway that was 4am... I got up and sat on the couch to let everything drain out of my head, well I fell asleep. Soon Angie got up and went to work then I get a phone call... "honey I forgot to take out the trash." So, as I'm taking out the trash I realize hey it's damn cold out here. Well you northern folks would probably laugh at me but it was 28 on thermometer... so what do you do when it gets that cold? You make snow!
About a year and a half ago I decided I wanted to make snow. So a quick online search turned up a dozen sites about people who make home made snow guns. You need a compressor and some water and some off the shelf parts from Home Depot and your good to go... I made one over a year ago and this was the first time it was even remotely cold enough to try. So I hauled out the hoses and hooked everything up and within 15 minutes I was blowing the atomized water up in the air...and it looked like it was working! I keep looking real hard trying to decide it it's freezing or not when I realized that Dade's bike now had a fine coating on it! v.cool! Alright let's let this cook for a bit then. I walked out 15 minutes later and the ground had a nice white coating in about a 10 foot diameter circle. Anwyay after an hour or so I made about 1/2 inch or so in the 10 foot diameter. It was enough to make snowballs, many of them! Dade and I had snowball fights for an hour and had I started earlier I could have no doubt made enough to make a snow man! Next time I will be prepared! huh what did you say? My ears are ringing! Did black cats get louder or my ears more sensitive... Happy New Years... We went to 2 count 'em 2 partys last night. LB had a kick ass shin dig at his place and we had a little mini high school reunion there kinda cool a friend of mine V who still works at Enron was there as well a couple of others. After that we went to R's party it was smaller but just as fun. Angie got a little drunk and R got alot drunk and that was that!

Angie and I went to see LotR yesterday and wow! I was blown away by the scenery and just amounts of stuff! They did a great job of showing a new place that was like earth but was not... I say it's great movie go see it! I also had to go to work yesterday for a couple of hours so I guess yesterday was my real last day whatever... I was just watching the news and they are saying that we be having a Siberian Blast coming our way by the 5th. Coldest temperatures in 5 years they are saying... of course I'm heading to Sin city on the 7th so that ought be perfect timing. ughhhh
I'm sorry I haven't been keeping the ol' blog up to date... well we made it through Christmas... Dade got waaaayyyy to much stuff... I'm so glad I had a boy. Now I get to go back and play hot wheels and build with Tinkertoys! Anwyay today was my last day of work... I'm not officially terminated but that is what it boils down to. I'm gonna take a couple weeks to collect myself and then get after finding gainfull employment. Anyone need a web dev/network admin type?
in just a couple of weeks I'm off to the land of sin to see the Consumer Electronics Show. It is geek heaven and may only be rivaled by Comdex for looking into the future of technology... you too can look at the future of the PC. Here are some specs and I think a kind of wishlist for the coming year or two... the most potential on the list? Organic Led Screens... my wife has a cell phone with this technology and it is fine! I can't wait for them to get real video working well.
Is OBL alive or dead? I say if he's dead good. The US can claim he is alive and place him where ever they want target terrorism. If he is not really dead there is no martyr to rally behind... I think it's a win win for the US.
