Somethings in life are not fair. Everyone feels like that sometimes. I had a slightly eye opening weekend. First as most of you know I am kind of a let's go, carpe diem, no time like the present type of person anyway. At least sometimes. I tend to try my best to live life and do "things"! Angie, Dade and I went to the movies last night to see the comedy "Click". In the movie Adam Sandler goes to Bed Bath and Beyond to get a universal remote, he finds the Beyond department and gets a remote that can control his universe. Ultimately in the end as he fast forwards his life he realizes that in his very well intentioned quest to succeed in business and provide for his family he was never around and ended up alone and somewhat estranged from everyone.
Why am I telling you this? Angie got a call this weekend and a good friend of hers, same age and all, well her husband had "acid reflux" and ended up going to the emergency room for it. It turned out to be stomach cancer. The prognosis for life beyond 5 years is poor. One minute you are fine the next you are on death's door. You must take the time to cherish what you have right now! Right this minute if you can! Hug your kids, call your mom, have a beer with dad. You'll wish you had done all of that when you get your call. Don't live to work. Don't forget to smell the roses, put your toes in the sand, take a nap!
ENJOY LIFE! No matter how bad things are, you really got it pretty good ... just to be in this world!

On another note... would you want to know? One minute it's Acid Reflux the next it's visit from the grim reaper. You know "ignorance is bliss". Would you want to know? In this case hell yes! There is a fighting chance to beat and I'd rather have my chance at the plate. Let me take my swings! At any rate knowing means that everything looks brighter, tastes better, feels better and ultimately is more important! Each day will be the best day ever, so maybe knowing is better.
i never want to know.
but somehow i find myself there...
asking the questions no one wants to tell the answers to.
i hope he sees that life is too short for all the CRAP medicine they will feed him.
2 months of regular life, or 4 months of not getting out of bed?
but i have been there, so my view is slightly distorted!
http://sln.fi.edu/pieces/knox/automaton/index.html This is AMAZING! To help cut to the chase... this thing draws pictures and writes poems. It does this all by mechanical means. Scroll down teh page to see the pictures and a poem sample and you will surely be amazed that someone could make something this elaborate around 1800!
Well I joined the gym in Baytown yesterday so that is going to change my whole workout routine, we'll see how it goes I might hate it!
Not much else has been going on since Miami, looking forward to diving this summer sometime.
OH! If anyone knows of a guitar instructor in Baytown I am looking. I want to take lessons with Dade and would someone who will us together at the same time.
I'm back... and big damn NO! I did not get to dive at all the seas were to high due to Alberto... ARGH! Anyway the rain never really materialized but it was cloudy until the last day. The sun came out on the day I had to go so I took as much of it with me as I could. The hotel was great the pool was great everything else but the diving was great... still a bit dissappointing. We will be getting our money back so we'll use that to go somewhere.
