So much to say... eh what are you gonna do.

What a Friday we had! Angie took the day off, we went to Celebration Station and hit balls, putt putted, played games and rode go-karts. Then we headed over to the Marq*e where we Ate at Red Robin's then watched Robots (very funny BTW) and then went blacklight bowling. fun fun fun fun fun.

During the viewing of Robots I saw the new trailer for ROTS ... you can see it here...

but if you cannot wait! have I got a treat for you...

It seems some very fanatical fans put this "other" movie together. Now before you blow it off as some beginner low budget BS ... take a look at the trailer for this thing...WOW! I am approaching SW critical mass I think.

I am hoping to attend Star Wars Fan Celebration III with Dade but it's looking less and less likely at this point. We'll see.

Ok since I'm going movie geekarama today I ran across this trailer over on the Apple trailers site. It's called A Scanner Darkly and has some names in it. It's by Warner Independant Pictures so it's an indy film sorta... what caught my eye, beside the content, was the film style. Cartoon drawn over real footage, computer anime style. It sort of reminds me of the Spiderman series on MTV that was soooo cool. To bad that's gone! Anyway, check it out.

Finally I'm going to leave you with a little something I talked about with my friend E the other day. I'm currently reading a book about the Philosophy in the Matrix and I must admit that it is my first foray into organized philosophical thoughts. The book is like a crash course in philosophy and I find that every chapter I read generates 100's of questions I think it's very good brain food! Anyway the ponderance... Let's say there is a boat called Sparta that is going to sail across the ocean and it's made from wood. The people on Sparta know that the wood will fail along the journey so they bring enough wood to make repairs as they go. By the time they reach the other shore the entire boat has been replaced stem to stern. Every single piece. Sparta pulls in and docks. Now along the way as each piece was replaced they tossed the old piece overboard. Currents and all took these pieces to a desert island where some castaways reassembled the ENTIRE boat piece by piece until they too set sail and lo and behold pulled into the dock next to the original Sparta, or is the old wood the original Sparta? This brings the question to the front what makes you, you!? If you lop off a finger your still you, a hand a foot a leg, keep going if they could medically keep you going when do you cease being you? When your brain dies? For the sake of argument what if they could "record" your brain and store it in a computer is that computer you? ahhh my is going... thanks E for getting me in a twist!

    Been awhile...
The insanity continues though... I'm sorry but life is just moving to fast to record it right now.

I took Dade and Dad to the monster trucks the other night... blacked out Escalade with spinners on it .. how funny is that! 'digger won of course!

Right now I'm sick sick sick... and I can't figure out my insurance deal. Primary seconday it's just crappy that they force you to be primary on your employer... Angie's insurance is a lot better but I can't choose it as primary... sucks!

I've seen tons of good linkls lately... and I know it's old news but maps.google.com is the shit! One of the coolest things I've seen on the net in some time. Try searching for "pizza near 77521" that's Baytown... you'll get the idea play around with it.

Another cool app baby Name Voyager how cool!

BTW there is a listing of the best hubble images of all time listed at space.com wow!

You sometimes wonder why the computer is so slow... well let's take chess, every time you make a move the computer has to think out all potential game outcomes from all of it's potential moves! Wanna see what that looks like... check this! out... thinking machine will show the moves, it's quite enlightening.

Gadgets keep coming and coming, last year I got one of the best gadgets ever, a Bluetooth Headset for my T610... using this headset I'm able to leave my phone in my pocket while I dial out or receive calls. I can dial by saying the name of a person I can have it announce in my ear who is calling so I choose to answer or not and all the while with nary a wire. Well I think thios little gadget might have to replace the headset!

    Bluetooth rearview mirror

Also on the gadget front, this looks mega hot! Can't wait for a US version...

Some of you know I have a cert to scuba. I am dieing to get wet ASAP... I already have an underwater housing for my digital stil camera, but how about my videocam? Too expensive! often times it's more than the camera for the housing, until a DIY verion came along... looks intriguing.

enough enough... BTW I'm reading this book right now The Matrix and Philosophy: Welcome to the Desert of the Real WOW cool it is! Did you know Morpheus is the Greek god of dreams? Kinda neat in that he is the one in charge of "waking people up" from the Matrix! I highly recomend the book for those interested.

    WTF are these people doing!

    More catfightin'

The other night we watched Mary Poppins ... how cool, spoonful of sugar, supcalifragilisticexpialidocious, chim chimmeny I smiled so much my jaws hurt, then last night we watched Saw... demented! gotta jet ::-samu

    WTF! Leroy Wells damn!

OMG! Ok those drinks they light in the clubs... well... I love the part where he goes off like Puff the magic Dragon!

Speaking of dragons... Dragon's War looks the shit! but I can't figure out if it's real or not...

This is wild! A mirror made from wood!

Just in case you need a Russian Missle Launcher or some ad space on Jeff Bagwell's Ex wife's cleavage! ... you can get anything on the internet!

Ok, if you thought that thing where someone snorts a string or snake or something up their nose then out of thier mouth was wild... just wait 'til you get a load of this guy!

Last one... How to fold a t-shirt in 1 second!

Seeeeee I told you there would be more... i.am.jedi

What a week it's been! First on deck is Vegas... Angie had to go for business and I decided to tag along... on the first day I lost, but we went to see Blue Man Group at the Luxor and it was way cooler than I thought it would even be! It's really hard to do justice as to just what BMG is but take a look at this video and that will give you some idea. Next day I lost and Angie worked so it was craptacular but that evening we went to the Shadow Bar at Ceasers Palace and even though it was nut to butt we some how managed 2 seats front and center at the bar. This is one of those bars where the bartenders do all of the flair stuff. So that was cool and then there are the naked women's shadows that are ever gyrating behind the bar. We go a little drunk it was fun! The next day(last day) we checked out and headed for food to feed the hang over... ended up at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. After a little grub we set out to play some more. Well at this point I had not really won anything substantial and was down a fair amount. I threw down my last C note and got hot on craps... won back half of what I had lost so that was pretty good!

Then on Saturday Angie and I took our family out for a night, got a limo, and went to Mark's then to see Cirque du Soliel's Varekai it was a blast!

    links...
This is cool if not paper and ink eating! Rasterbate!

Mix a bunch of testosterone and alcohol some mud, 4 wheelers, and burnouts and you get this rather long video!

Revenge can be a bitch... watch out when you make those videos girls!

Now this is some funny ass shit! Hypnogasm!

One time we did this to the couples car at the wedding. FUnny!

    More soon...

First ... nothing and I mean almost nothing can get me down today, not even the BS that just happened here at the office, anyway. I am big Nightmare Before Christmas fan... always have liked it not just for the story or the halloweeny bits but for the claymation and Tim Burton Style... well lo and behold!
Tim Burton's Corpse Bride! Oh baby ! v.cool!

Do any of you remember the old days of the NES? It was cooool back then, well technology move on in such a way that you can now play ANY NES game on your browser! How cool is that!

WOW is there anything Google can't do? video.google.com!

This is the original Mac commercial circa 1984... kinda wild!

    LATE!

Wow it's the 11th already! Sorry I've been busy with a new product launch and had no time to blog.

Christmas was great... hope you all had a good one. New Years was uneventful. Popped fireworks and had a drink.

The latest dealio I'm dealing with though is my jacked up knees and shoulder in regards of exercise. I can't run more than 4 miles without my at least one of my knees making me miserable and back in September I dropped a 60lb dumbell on my shoulder and it won't seem to heal. I know it's toast... going to the doc tomorrow.

oh yea and screw you greedy Beltran! you suck... no it's not sour grapes either... you seemed like a good guy but when it got down to it you decided to chase a few more $$$$ it will make it sweeter if we make it to the big show now!

YOU! have never seen anything like this before! OMG!

Have a play on the fridge.

Cool! One of Saturn's moons has a belt! Check it out!

GEEK ALERT! 20 year usenet timeline! neat! except the last entries... ... still gets me

BTW CES has just wrapped up for this year, check out the best of CES for a round up!

Google logo collection... I always like seeing a new one!

I rant now I rave! Oh what glory!

First let me say for the sake of those readers from the more northern climates, it rarely snows in Houston. The last time was 1989! Occasionaly there are flurries but actual snow ... almost never and on Christmas ... it never has period. So when I went out today and there was a winter mix falling it was a monumentous event. Nothing was sticking to the ground and what was hitting was more like sleet I think... not really flakes, but there was hope!

Later in the day we went to Angie's mom's house to open gifts and have dinner. On the drive over there were definately flakes falling and there was more hope, how cool! Oh yea I must mention that Angie's dad is down from Kentucky. This will be ther first time we've had her side of the family together for Christmas so this is indeed a special event! Anyway... we come out of Janet's place and the top of the cars have snow on them!!!! Whoa! v.cool! It's still the little balls, mostly, but it's accumulation!

All the way home, flurries and I means lots of them... nothing is sticking though, but hey here in this neck of the woods I'm just happy it's cold outside for Christmas. So lot's of flurries flurries flurries then we get to Baytown and nada! dead nothing... oh well we do a quick drive by of some Christmas lights and head for the house. I look out after about 15 minutes and there are little snowy balls falling again and there is accumulation on the tops of cars and such! Dade and I had a ball ... we managed a few small snowballs and some play until eventully there was nothing left. Inside, time for bed... Angie, her dad and I watched a little TV and after 30 or so I had something to do outside ;) ;) and when I open the door... OMG! Full on snow piling up everywhere! No little balls real big monster cool flakes it was spectacular! Now seeing as this comes along only once every 15 years I had no other option but to wake my 7 year old on the night that he really really need to be asleep! We wrap up and head out! It's 10:15p at this point and the neighborhood is alive! Two girls driving around looking at lights have just stopped in the street and are out having snowball fights and making snow angels! EVERY kid in the neighborhood is out. It's very loud and raucous laughter abounds! Before long Dade, the neighbor kids and myself are in full on snowball fights. The feeling in the air is nothing short of sheer joy! it's intoxicating and EVERYONE feels it! My neigbors wish me a "Merry Christmas!" I think of my last blog entry and have a little cheer inside! A little later my neighbors from across the street come home and ... wish me a "Merry Christmas!" A huge smile escapes me and have a moment of peace! Maybe I was wrong... maybe it proves I was right ... either way the snow in the air on Christmas eve in arms of my family has warmed heart to the point of bursting! Nothing else could make this better right now and I realize that right now is THE moment! I am glad I was given the opportunity experience such an event... it may seem insignificant to some and some might not have recognized the beauty of the moment but I have! and hopefully you did too... wait...

I hear sleighbells on the roof...must get to sleep... Merry Christmas everyone!
