I opened their eyes to email, ftp, IM , newsgroups and the IRC... during this I made an off color comment on people losing their spouse to chatters in the IRC this wall innocently leading up to the "be carefull who you meet online" speech... little did I know one of the attendees was in the thows of a divorce over guess what... anyway... all of that being said you never know who you are going to meet out there in CYBERSPACE, thank you William Gibson. WHOEVER WROTE THIS SHOULD STEP FORWARD AND CLAIM THIS POEM. THE WORDS ARE VERY POWERFUL: TWO THOUSAND ONE, NINE ELEVEN (2001-911)
Two thousand one, nine eleven Three thousand plus arrive in heaven As they pass through the gate, Thousands more appear in wait A bearded man with stovepipe hat Steps forward saying, "Lets sit, lets chat"
They settle down in seats of clouds A man named Martin shouts out proud "I have a dream!" and once he did The Newcomer said, "Your dream still lives."
Groups of soldiers in blue and gray Others in khaki, and green then say "We're from Bull Run, Yorktown, the Maine" The Newcomer said, "You died not in vain."
From a man on sticks one could hear "The only thing we have to fear. The Newcomer said, "We know the rest, trust us sir, we've passed that test."
"Courage doesn't hide in caves You can't bury freedom, in a grave," The Newcomers had heard this voice before A distinct Yankees twang from Hyannisport shores
A silence fell within the mist Somehow the Newcomer knew that this Meant time had come for her to say What was in the hearts of the five thousand plus that day
"Back on Earth, we wrote reports, Watched our children play in sports Worked our gardens, sang our songs Went to church and clipped coupons We smiled, we laughed, we cried, we fought Unlike you, great we're not"
The tall man in the stovepipe hat Stood and said, "Don't talk like that! Look at your country, look and see You died for freedom, just like me"
Then, before them all appeared a scene Of rubbled streets and twisted beams Death, destruction, smoke and dust And people working just 'cause they must
Hauling ash, lifting stones, Knee deep in hell, but not alone "Look! Blackman, Whiteman, Brownman, Yellowman Side by side helping their fellow man!"
So said Martin, as he watched the scene "Even from nightmares, can be born a dream."
Down below three firemen raised The colors high into ashen haze The soldiers above had seen it before On Iwo Jima back in '44
The man on sticks studied everything closely Then shared his perceptions on what he saw mostly "I see pain, I see tears, I see sorrow -- but I don't see fear."
"You left behind husbands and wives Daughters and sons and so many lives are suffering now because of this wrong But look very closely. You're not really gone.
All of those people, even those who've never met you All of their lives, they'll never forget you Don't you see what has happened? Don't you see what you've done? You've brought them together, together as one.
With that the man in the stovepipe hat said "Take my hand," and from there he led three thousand plus heroes, Newcomers to heaven On this day, two thousand one, nine eleven
If you're stupid enough to have sex with on of your 14 year students... then no damn wonder you got caught have the film you shot of it developed at WalMart! DA!!!!
WTF happened to 3 strikes! After 176 arrests they let him out early for good behavior... He was arrested the next day ... 177 and counting... send his ass to Texas and see what happens!
I have been so busy this place has just not been a priority for me! That being said, let's see if I can get back on track! I'm back! For those that did not know I went to Sand Diego this weekend to a conference for Furniture brokers. It was a pretty good time, beautiful part of the country there! Wow! While it was a pretty busy weekend, Saturday morning I found time to walk out to the beach very early. Everything was fogged in so I went down to the water and just watched the waves for awhile. Eventually the fog started to lift right there 100 yards offshore was a shrimp boat! Obviously the fog was worse for him! It was cool though he was having to be dragged by some dude in a dingy... anyway every time they would find something in the nets they did not want they'd chunck it back in and the water would turn white with sea lion pileing on whatever it was. It looked like a giant wet game of smear the queer! When I got back to houston I heard the Texans win against the Dolphins! Holy CRAP!!!
Backing up... Thursday, I'm on my way to work when I hear a clunk like I ran over something. Well pretty sooon the wheel starts whump whumping along like it's going flat. I'm going down the freeway at 70 in a pack so I start to hit the brakes and bam straight to the floor! UH OH! so I manage to miss everyone and coast off the the freeway and into a parking lot. It turns out my bearings seized then exploded! This cascaded to the rotor, the calipers and the spindle. Basically the only thing holding the wheel on the truck was the remnants of the calipers. I'm lucky the wheel didn't just come flying off! at 70!
Bloggy data goin haywire...I see my blog for yesterday did not post so I'll power this one in post... Labor Day weekend... for the bulk of this summer I've been talking to E about going diving. We have to go, we have to go, we have to go... we never did. Finally I said let do this thing I can't stand it any more... screw all the work screw all the other stuff, we're comin up! So we set the date for the long weekend. Now it has not rained in the DFW for 2 consecutive days all summer and we had 3 to work with any one would suffice... the prognosis... a Tropical storm in the gulf about to come ashore south of Galveston, CRAP! and a cold front coming down on the DFW area. Come on! Forecast in DFW rain 4 days straight! Screw it we'll be wet anyway. We hit the road about 4p when Dade got home from school, we were at E's house by 8:30p and in his new theater watching movies by 9p it was awesome. He has this whole tab tensioned electric screen and an HS10 working. To cool! Checked out a ton of stuff. We also got out is telescope and checked out Mars since it was so close to Earth and all. Great shots, you could see the polar cap... off to hit the hay early rise in the morning... Saturday 6:30am! Chomping at the bit! Rain is holding off so far! We were heading to Athens Scuba Park for a little fresh water diving. This scuba park was once a clay brick yard, but one day when digging clay they hit a spring and whoops, instant swimming pool. The natural alkalinity of the water makes life almost impossible so the water tends to stay clear and at 7.5 acres and 35 feet deep, it made the perfect dive spot.
...in my best Jaques Cousteau voice"
We arrive at our destination and geared up. Upon entering the water we shocked by the warmness of the water. As we slowly descended the blue depth we surprised to see a Lockheed C140 JetStar sitting on the bottom. On closer inspection we noticed a skeleton sitting the in the cockpit. ... this voice it to irritating... back to normal!
We explored the plane in and out, all of the control panel was still intact and most things still worked. They had guide ropes to find the next wreck which was a small overwing plane. There was a ton to see down there. Almost to much! Boats, a houseboat, 2 cabin cruisers, a golf cart and a motorcycle. One of the coolest things we saw was this old dead tree, very very spooky looking and it had a skeleton hanging from a hangman's noose. Very weird to come across. They also had an underwater maze which turned out to not be as scary as first thought. After a couple of hours of diving split by a 1 hour surface interval. We headed back to E's house. I took some pictures, we'll see if they come out. The rest of the weekend was great, we played some Xbox watched movies, bought some Halloween props... all in all a fantastic time, can't wait to do it again!
